oh scotland
of course i lived in the region worst hit by the flooding

story time
in the morning i got up and got driven to my school which was about 20 minutes away, it was raining and the was some flooding but no big deal
then at the end of the day when i was needing picked up, what happens?
i get a phone call from my mum saying she can't get out our village because the river bank burst and all the roads were shut
so i had to stay at a friends house that night, and the next morning
I HAD TO GO TO SCHOOL
and get shouted at, by every single teacher for not having the right jotters,
and of course when i tried to explain
"no excuses Hannah"
grrr

so, anyone else get flooded?
our house is on a little hill so we were safe from it getting inside, just
or any annoying teacher stories?

i'm not a pessimist i'm just realistically miserable

I live in scotland too and on a hill. I once came back from Scout camp and saw a house with sand bags outside their door as their was water everywhere. Not to good for the guy who lived there but now the water has gone. Also I used to go to a ditch after school and once I walked right through it and it went up to my waist!

there's a stream near my house, that burst its' banks,
it flooded the road and everything - if you stood at the bus stop, you'd have water up to your waist.
it overturned the tarmac in the car park of a restaurant situated next to the stream too.
it was pretty bad, but i was only like, 12, so i loved it, haha.

@Pinga haha XD, the water here was up to my waist, and they had to put police tape around the school fields because it got so deep XD

@ALEX we usually get flooded, but this is the worst i've ever seen it, but a few years ago when they closed the road of me and a few friends went swimming down the roads XD

All the rivers here have burst their banks, but it's not as bad as it is down your way.
And yay for living on hills! The road is flooded at the bottom of my hill (but you can still drive through it, so it's all good).

My uncle was meant to be coming up from Cumbria to visit this weekend.
So not gonna happen.

It's pretty much all hills in my area, and my house is at the top of a hill, so if it ever rains enough to actually flood anything we're not affected by it. The bottom of our yard may become a river, though
My one grandmother lives on an island, though, and over the years she's had to deal with a lot of flooding.

and I'm always on the run
always on the run
some days dream I'll evaporate
wouldn't it be sad to lose me?

Low ling area + large amount of rain for NW Washington = flooded area. Our house is on a small hump in the middle so our house was surrounded by water. At least the water receded a little and we can actually keep from getting wet to our knees w/out hip waders.

We don't live near water so we don't really have a problem with that. When it rains here there are sometimes serious problems with even the very tiny rivers.

Look on the bright side anyway... what is a teacher shouting at you compared to a flooded and ruined house? I'd be just glad that my house was and is safe.
